Hello to all the fans and friends of Glorious One-Pot Meals!

Thanks for your patience during this rather long delay between newsletters. As you may have realized, the beloved first edition of Glorious One-Pot Meals has gone out of print. This happened in spite of and because of its award-winning, best-selling success and soon we will see the fully revised, expanded, and improved Glorious One-Pot Meals hit the shelves all over the country!

Everything you love about the first GOPM you'll find in the second, and more. Interesting recipes, easy-to-follow instructions, fun anecdotes, and creative ingredient alternatives are all there, but this time there are twice as many recipes, new grains to play with, and even a few new twists to the technique.

Best of all, it's being published by Broadway Books, a Random House imprint, so I will finally have national distribution and you really will be able to find it at a book store near you come January 6th.

After taking most of the summer and fall off from more than 2 years of touring (yep, that's why there was no newsletter for so long!), I'm heading back out on tour. Cooking demonstrations, healthy eating strategies, natural living tips and more are packed into my public appearances. I kicked off my 2009 tour early with an appearance at the Colorado Cookin' event last weekend, and will have one more event in 2008. I'll move into high gear when the book comes out in early January, with a booksigning/cooking demonstration at the Tattered Cover to start things off.

My first tour stop outside of Colorado will be in Arizona in late January. See the schedule below for booked events, and consider if you know a company, non-profit, or group that should catch me while I'm there and save $$. Successful referrals get a free, private cooking class held in their home for all of their friends!

I'm looking ahead to California, Washington, and Oregon tour stops in the spring as well. If you have any suggestions about where I should go, please let me know!

Enjoy the familiar flavors of the Italian favorite Chicken Piccata – without all the fat, calories, and effort! The Glorious One-Pot Meals version relies on the traditional flavors to bring the ingredients to life without trudging through multiple steps and dirtying up a kitchen's worth of pots and pans.

Glorious One-Pot Meal Tip: Lasagna Noodles
I've been experimenting with lasagna noodles lately, and you know what? They work perfectly in a Glorious One-Pot Meal! The trick is to start with a layer of tomatoes or tomato sauce on the bottom, and then sandwich the noodle with wetter ingredients like spinach or chard, cheese, and more tomato sauce. Proceed with layers of veggies before finishing with another layer of flat noodles topped with sauce, greens, and cheese. For softer noodles (not so al dente), add 1/3 cup water right before cooking.
